More Than Just Essentials: Spreading Hope with Handwritten Messages
What are Refresh Cards?
Refresh Cards add a personal, encouraging touch to our hygiene packs, giving students more than just essential items – they provide a boost of inspiration. Crafted with care and compassion, these cards deliver handwritten messages that brighten the day of the recipient. Your contribution helps make each pack special – thank you!
Crafting Supplies You'll Need
- 3x5 or 4x6 cards OR thick cardstock/construction paper cut to size (any color)
- An assortment of colorful markers or pens
- Stickers optional
Guidelines for Creating Refresh Cards
As these cards reach students of varied ages and beliefs, we ask you to adhere to the following guidelines:
- Avoid religious references or quotes
- Keep messages gender-neutral
- Don't include your name on the card
- Make sure cards are handwritten
- Use one or both sides of the card
- Ensure each card is meaningful and not just a few words - be creative! Make use of drawings, stickers, and different colored markers. Remember, quality trumps quantity!
Message Ideas for Refresh Cards
Here are a few examples, but feel free to create your own inspiring messages:
- "Have an amazing day!"
- "You're perfect just the way you are!"
- "Make today count!"
- "Follow your dreams!"
- "It's a good day to be happy!"
Once Your Cards are Ready
Don’t forget to capture the moment! Snap a picture of your child or group with their completed Refresh Cards and send it to volunteers@refreshntx.org. We love sharing your creations on our social media and Website.
Please place completed cards in a ziploc and include any relevant information such as you/your child’s name, group or school NJHS/NHS affiliation and email address (in case we have a question for service hour verification). They can then be dropped in the bin located outside our warehouse at 124 Rose LAne, Unit 405, Entrance 2, Frisco, TX 75036.
